Audrey Faye Dybvad

April 22, 1930 — April 15, 2022

Audrey Faye Dybvad, age 91, of Dayton, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Hospice of Dayton, April 15, 2022. She was born April 22, 1930, to George and Josephine Manges, in Aliquippa, PA. Audrey had one older brother, Gordon "Gus" Manges. She grew up and went to High School in Aliquippa.

In 1954, Audrey went to visit her brother, Gus, at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. He introduced Audrey to his best friend, William "Bill" Dybvad. Audrey and Bill were married in Aliquippa a year later. They then began an adventure that spanned over 65 years, multiple countries and more homes than can be counted. Audrey and Bill have three children - Bruce (Karen), Chris (Kim), Lisa (Steve). They have three grandchildren - Kelsey, Audrey Jo, Steven, four great-grandchildren - Caitlin, Taylor, Brixton, Roux and one great-great grandchild - Declyn.

After exploring the world, Audrey and Bill decided in 1974 to make Dayton their permanent home and Bill retired from the Air Force. Dayton had everything they wanted - a good career opportunity for Bill, a thriving bridge community for Audrey, great friends and lovely weather. Audrey found the perfect location and they built their forever home which they filled with family, friends, love and laughter.

Audrey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the consummate hostess. She was a fierce competitor, achieving her goal of American Contract Bridge League Life Master in 1981 and remaining as one of Dayton's top bridge players throughout her life. Audrey will be greatly missed.
