Arvel Arthur

Arvel H. Arthur, age 75, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2011. He was born on November 1, 1935 in Huntington, WV, to the late Hasten and Eunice Arthur. In addition to his parents, Arvel is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eleanor Arthur; two brothers, Kenneth and Harold Arthur. Arvel is survived by his two children, Veronica Williams and Michele (Jeff) DeLorme; four grandchildren; 2 great grandchild; two siblings Odel and Billy Arthur; and other family members and good friends. Arvel had a great love for his family. He was thankful for the kindness he received from his neighbors as well as the care received from the visiting nurses during his time of illness. Arvel retired from General Motors, after 27 years of service. A funeral service will be held on Sunday July 10, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior from 1:30 - 2:30 pm.
