Arthur Edward Yarbrough, age 79 of Miami Twp., passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. He was born March 9, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Arthur E. Sr. and Doris E. (Wood) Yarbrough.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn L. Yarbrough.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith Ann (Toolen) Yarbrough; children, Arthur E. (Amy) Yarbrough III, Kathleen F. (Bill) Highley and Donna (Dr. Stephen) Weeber; grandchildren, Robert, Kyle (fiancé, Amanda), Seth, Shaylynn as well as Whitney and Shane; step great grandchildren, Kaden, Maddox and Eisley; good friends, Richard and Goldie Holt and their children, Chris and Keli.
Art was 1957 graduate of Fairview High School in Jennings, MO. Following graduation Art enlisted in the US Air Force Reserves and honorably served for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant training troops for chemical and biological warfare. Art was also employed as a salesman for McGraw Hill Information Systems and later as an officer for the Miami Township Police Department. Art finished his career as an inspector for ATF&E and later volunteered for Civil Air Patrol in Tallahassee, FL. He also enjoyed membership in the HAM Radio Operators Club, the Air Force Association and Parkview United Methodist Church.
Family will receive guests an hour prior to a memorial service to be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, 1:00 pm at Parkview United Methodist Church (3713 Benner Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342). Dayton National Cemetery will serve as Art's final resting place with military honors.
