Arthur F. Renner

Arthur F. "Art" Renner, age 88 of Xenia, OH passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 22, 1930 in Englewood, Ohio to Arthur and Hilda (Sanford) Renner. Art married his high school sweetheart JoAnn Zink on May 28, 1950 in Englewood, OH.

Art graduated from Randolph High School in Englewood in 1948, and lettered in basketball, baseball and football. He was drafted in 1952 and served his country in the Korean War as a Marine. Art received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in the conflict. Art also received the National Defense Service Medal from the United Nations. Upon his return he worked for General Motors as an electrician. He retired from GM in 1992. Art and Jo enjoyed traveling the United States visiting 49 of the 50 states and most of the Canadian Provinces, and Mexico. He enjoyed watching sports, game shows and playing cards, especially euchre. Art loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Art is survived by his wife of 69 years, JoAnn; a son, Kim Renner; three daughters, Tammy (John) Gregory, Kelly (Mark) Dobbins and Lisa (Tom) Holley; ten grandchildren, Erica (Matt) Lipinski, Joshua (Andrea) Gregory, Joel (Lindsey) Gregory, Jordan Gregory, Jared (Leah) Gregory, Jennifer (Phillip) Wilt, Tiffany (Kyle) Conklin, Luke Holley, Keith (Stacy) Holley and Adam (Amber) Holley; seventeen, soon to be nineteen great grandchildren; a brother, Allen (Barbara) Renner; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jessica Northup; and a granddaughter, Megan Holley.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
