Arnold Hamblin
Age 83 of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday October 3, 2009. Arnold was born on December 11, 1925 and raised in Gatliff, KY. He served in the Army during WWII in the Philippines. He married Mildred McKiddy in 1949, and went on to start a family and moved them all to Dayton where he worked for GM and retired from GM. He loved to play baseball and has always been an avid fan. He enjoyed hunting and raising hunting dogs. He always enjoyed the company of his friends who he played cards with. He loved to sing along to country music and he had a lot of wisdom to share with those who knew him. He was a proud democrat and was honored to vote in every election. He loved the home cooking of his wife and he never gave up hope to hit the lottery. Arnold will always be remembered and loved as a husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Mance and Bertha Hamblin of Gatliff, KY, his 2 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 children Stanley & Karen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mildred Hamblin of Dayton, OH, daughter and son-in-law Rhonda & Gary Lieffer of Jacksonville, NC, , daughter and son-in-law Lana and Ronnie Keaton of Dayton, OH, son Bruce Hamblin of Dayton , OH, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Jennifer Hamblin of Bellbrook, OH. Granddaughter, Melissa Shade, grandson Ronnie Keaton II and his wife Angie Keaton, grandson Michael Malesko and his wife Julie Malesko, grandson Tom Gill, granddaughter Bridget Malesko, grandson Ben Gill, and grandson Travis Hamblin. Great Grandchildren, Timothy Keaton-Dix, Amanda Shade, Andrew Malesko, Ronnie Keaton III, and Jackson Malesko, many other loving family members and friends. Our thanks to the nurses at Kettering Hospital, SICU unit and Sycamore Hospital, Life Care unit. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424 at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 8, 2009. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment Willow View Cemetery.
