De MONICO, Arnold "Nick" age 82 passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stansilau and Philomena De Monico; brothers, Gaetano and Stephen De Monico; and sister, Angie Trapani.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; 6 children, Arnold "Nick" (Lee) De Monico Jr. of Westport, CT, Michael (Teresa) De Monico of Dayton, OH; Christopher (Julie) De Monico of Portland, OR; Joseph Carmen (Elizabeth) De Monico of Houston, TX, Maria (Don) Hetzler of Burlington, KY, and Angela Jessmer of Beavercreek, OH; sisters, Anne Chiesa and Nina Catapano; brother, Cosmo; 13 grandchildren, Max, Alec, and Cole De Monico; Daniel, Seth, and Nathan De Monico; Alli and Andrew De Monico; Vincent De Monico; Helena and Henry Hetzler; Jacob and Isabella Jessmer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Nick retired from the Daytonian Hilton and also had been employed by the Wright Patterson Air Force Base during the initial construction of Page Manor. Nick was also employed by Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. as a life insurance agent.
The family would like to thank the staff of Coronary Rehab & Pulmonary Rehab at Miami Valley Hospital and the staff of The Hospice of Dayton.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home – South, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
