Arnetta Jo Ramsey, age 83 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019. She was born in Decatur, IL to the late Joseph and Frances Blakeman on May 25, 1936. Arnetta moved to Dayton in the mid-fifties with her family.
Arnetta retired after 23 years of service from Bank One. Prior to her career at the bank she worked as a waitress for Parkmoor. She was a talented singer and enjoyed singing in church. She enjoyed attending the Gospel Music Programs at the Coming Together Center with the late, Rev. Ken Shively. Arnetta enjoyed crafts and word puzzles in her free time. She took great pride in her family. Arnetta never knew a stranger and could light up a room with her smile.
She was a loving, caring, and compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Arnetta was preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Weaver, Duane Blakeman, John Blakeman, Donald Blakeman, Richard Blakeman, Audrey Fugate, and Ardith Jensen.
Arnetta leaves to cherish her memory, loving children, David R. Ramsey, Donald (June) Ramsey, and Robert (Regina) Leonard, Jr.; grandchildren, Donald (Cynthia) Ramsey and Amanda Leonard; sister, Alice (Lee) Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Arnetta's Life will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11am at Newcomer North Chapel. Visitation for one hour prior (10am - 11am). Arnetta will be laid to rest in a private family service at Valley View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnetta's memory to the Coming Together Center.
