Armandia Wilkes, age 91, passed away on June 6, 2012. She was born November 30, 1920 in Franklin, Georgia and lived in Dayton, Ohio for over 64 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John W. and Roxie E. Wood; former husband, Lonzie Wilkes; 8 sisters; 2 brothers, 3 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Armandia is survived by her children: Willie John Wilkes, LaVern Coats and Norine Jones; sister, Hattie Zachery; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Church, 3300 W. 3rd St., Dayton, Ohio 45417, where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon. Viewing will be held from 9 am until 1:00 pm at the church. Burial to follow at West Memory Gardens.
