RUIZ, Aristeo "John", age 76, of Kettering, received his final orders from his Supreme Commander on Sunday, June 22, 2008. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1951-1954 82nd Airborne and retired from the U.S. Navy in 1971 as a Machinist Mate Chief. From there he went to NCR Sugar Camp until retirement in 1982. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Fleet Reserves Assoc., and Disabled American Veterans. John is preceded in death by his daughter, LuAnn; parents, Aristeo and Enriquetta; sister, Vera; brothers, Pedro and Victor. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, June; daughters, Terri (John R.) Capurro, Becky (Chris) McFarland, Susan (Ghassan) Abuasba; 10 grandchildren, John D. (Paige) Durnbaugh, Eric Ruiz, James Jenkins, Jenni and Tony Capurro, Lauren and Conor Bickford, Iman, Naser, and Ahmed Abuasba; great granddaughter, Kylie Durnbaugh; mother-in-law, Lois Forrester; brothers, Bacilio, Domingo (Angie), Gilbert (Lucy), and Louis (Ann) Ruiz; sisters, Otilia (Rick) Pesker, Olivia (Joe) Morales, and Paula (Jim) Klier, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm Friday, June 27, 2008 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Dayton. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross or the Arthritis Foundation, Ohio River Valley Chapter.
