Aretda Morgan

August 12, 1951 — June 24, 2020

Aretda Morgan of Dayton, Ohio, age 68, born August 12, 1951, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 after a long battle with Cancer. She was born to Arthur and Betty Jo Stubbs. She was known as the second Mother to many and beloved friend to all.

Aretda graduated from Nettie Lee Roth High School in 1970. Shortly after graduating she started her career with Frigidaire. From there she became employed with Kroger Co. where she worked for 18 wonderful years. After retiring from Kroger Co., she worked for Walgreens and General Motors.

Aretda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Stubbs and Betty Jo Stiles-Stubbs and husband, Elder James R. Morgan Sr. She leaves to cherish her loving memories son Thomas T. Woodall III, and grandson T. Theseus Woodall IV; sister Elder Belinda Mitchell; aunt Marjorie A. Richardson; uncles Harold (Barbara) and Robert T. (Shirley) Stiles. And the stepchildren of Aretda Morgan, sons James Jr., Michael, Stephen (Jasmine); Matthew (Teresa); Mark (Tammy); John Earl (Patricia); Timothy; Daughters Teresa, Deborah (Steven North); Lydia (Ellis Ellington); and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Aretda gave her life to Christ as a young woman and was filled with the Holy Ghost. From that moment on she was a faithful servant of God and supported many ministries and outreach programs.

Fresh Touch International Ministries

Aretda was instrumental in birthing Fresh Touch International Ministries. While under the direction of Founder, Bishop Mitchell Foster, Aretda served as:
· Mother of the church
· Overseer of prayer
· Assisted in teaching and bible study
· Provided guidance, hope and love to women at Hope House for Men, Women and Children

Greater Love Christian Church (GLCC)

Elder James Morgan and Evangelist Aretda Morgan were members of Greater Love Christian Church for many years. They started the GLCC Outreach Ministry for new members. Under the direction of Bishop Michael Barringer and President of the GLCC Missionary Board Mother Joyce Smith, Aretda served as:
· Vice President of the Missionary Board
· Lead the Nursing Home Ministry
· Prayer Leader
· Directed and collected socks for Nursing Home Seniors and the Homeless
· Prepared and served in the kitchen for Homegoing Services
Aretda served whenever and wherever needed and was on call for prayer and support to all in need.

Love Unlimited House of Prayer

Under the direction of Senior Pastor Priscilla Carson, Aretda faithfully participated in the noon day prayer line. She was often called to preach and provide prayer.

Aretda served God with her whole heart and soul. She believed in the power of prayer and was a mighty woman of God and fierce prayer warrior. She prayed for others daily and not only gave selflessly of her time, talents and treasure, but generously provided financial support.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Bishop Mitchell Foster officiating. A private family burial will take place at Dayton National Cemetery with her husband. There will be no repast following the services.
