Archie V. Walls, age 87, of Dayton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017.
Archie was born in Jaybird, OH on October 28, 1929 to the late Elza & Anna Walls.
Archie retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber and Tires Unlimited. Archie was a member of the Fairborn Full Gospel Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Walls; daughter, Sheila Walls; sister, Imogene Purtee and brother, Charles Walls.
Archie is survived by his daughter, Alice (Tracy) Smith; grandsons, James (Teresa) Smith and Ben (Crystal) Smith; great-grandchildren, Federico Hernandez-Smith, Gavin Smith, Joey Hernandez-Smith, Micah Hernandez-Smith and Anya Smith; sisters, Jean Ann Green and Dorothy "Dot" Henize; several nieces & nephews-including special nephews, Luke and Aaron; and his extended church family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432). The service will follow at 11am, with Pastor Jimmy Haning officiating. Archie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rosemary, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Peebles, OH.
