Caldwell, Archie Leon, age 85, of Springboro, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Archie was born May 26, 1929 in Midway, Tennessee to the late Frank & Rhoda Caldwell. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Wanda Caldwell and 6 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children: Terry (Jill) Caldwell, James (Marilyn) Caldwell & Tanya (Keith) Norris; grandchildren: Joel & Phillip Norris, Alethea Caldwell; step grandchildren: Melissa & Kenneth (Jessica) Carter; step great grandchildren: Jacob & Carson Carter; and numerous other family members and friends.
Archie was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving with the Medical Corps and a preacher with Beavercreek Church of Christ. He retired from General Motors and was an avid gardener and bird house maker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Brother Marvin Eads officiating. Interment will follow the service at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, envelopes will be provided.
