Archie Clifford Sturgell
Age 83, of Dayton, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, August 22, 2009.
He was born November 9, 1925 in Trace, West Virginia to John & Nora (Stafford) Sturgell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leola (Marcum) Sturgell; brothers, John Jr., Rupert, Alva Lee & James Sturgell; sisters, Mabel May, Imal Dillon, Inis Dillon, Nora Belle Dillon & Sadie Sturgell.
Archie is survived by his sister, Beulah Mayberry; sons, Steve (Shirley) Sturgell, Roger (Cynthia Darwin) Sturgell, Kevin Sturgell; daughter, Sharon Kaye (Dean) Banks; grandchildren, Todd (April) Sturgell, Benjamin Sturgell, Jamison & Crista Banks, Kelly (Wesley) Plant, Kyle Sturgell, Karen McKeand – mother to Kelly & Kyle, Travis Darwin, Laurn & Audra Randell, Cynthia Darwin Sturgell – mother to Travis, Laurn & Audra; great grandchildren, Ashton, Grayson, Jewel, Opal, Tyler, Delanie & Shelbi; along with many nieces & nephews.
Archie's greatest accomplishments include being married to the love of his life, Leola, for 60 ½ years, his loving family and 60 years of service to God in the Church of God organization.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday (8/27) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the Evangel Church of God, 132 N. Smithville Road, Dayton. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
