LOBB, Dr. Archibald, Jr.
age 88 of Miamisburg, OH, born October 29, 1918, in Memphis, TN died Saturday, December 16, 2006 after admission to Hospice of Dayton, OH following a short illness. As a young man he attended Pentecost-Garrison School, Memphis, TN and Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN. After serving in the Army in the European theater during WWII, Archie attained his degree in podiatric medicine in Chicago, IL. While there he met his wife, Jacquelyn Florence Christianson. Before returning to Memphis they were married in Omaha, NE. Dr. Lobb practiced podiatric medicine until his retirement. After retirement Archie and Jacquelyn "Jackie" continued to live in Memphis for almost 15 years (except for a year in Hardy, AR) until moving to Iowa Falls, IA. After Jackie's death in 1999, Archie moved to Miamisburg, OH to share the home of his only child, Arthur Christian Lobb. Archie enjoyed fencing, sailing, and amateur radio. He especially enjoyed volunteering for church functions and Meals-On-Wheels. He was a member of Grace St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Memphis, TN and St. Matthew's by the Bridge in Iowa Falls, IA. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to St. Matthew's by the Bridge, Iowa Falls, IA. A memorial service is being planned for Grace St. Luke's Episcopal Church with burial in Alden, IA next to his wife. Archie (nicknamed "Pops" by many who knew him in Ohio) made brighter all of the lives he touched. He was kind, loving, vivacious and a true gentleman.
