Anthony "Tony" Young

February 9, 1962 — September 30, 2023

Anthony Quinn Young, a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and unwavering servant of the Lord, who left us on September 30, 2023. He was born on February 9, 1962, in Dayton, OH, where he took his last breath.

Anthony's faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a devout Christian, he held a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ. His mission was to share this love, express how Christ loved him, and wholeheartedly profess Him as Lord. Those fortunate to cross his path were often enlightened by his personal testimony - a heartfelt recount of life's triumphs and tribulations, always shining a light on God's gracious hand in every chapter.

Finding spiritual refuge and community, Anthony was a regular member of the Restoration Church of Jesus Christ. There, he reveled in the fellowship of believers, drawing strength, and offering the same to others in return.

Anthony was preceded in death by his stepfather, Abraham H.; mother, Emma H. (Young); father, Donald Elmore; and brother, Todd H. The memories he built with them and the love they shared remain a beacon of light for those who continue in his footsteps.

He leaves behind a legacy through his three cherished children: Anthony (Trinette) J. Young I, Andre (LaBrittnay) Young I, and Andrew (Joy)Young I. A proud grandfather, Anthony celebrated life with 13 grandchildren - 4 granddaughters and 9 grandsons. The family tree further expanded with the birth of his great-grandson, Anthony J. Young III.

Anthony also held a special place in his heart for his siblings: Gwendolyn, Donna Elmore-Cole, Kelly Elmore-Green, Darren (Kim) Cordell, Sheila (Lawrence) McCleskey, Doniell (Virl) Elmore-Murray, and Shedale Coleman. He cherished the unique bond he shared with each of them. Anthony's life was filled with moments shared with his nephews and nieces, whom he held close to his heart. Among them, one special bond was with "De'Ante," showcasing the depth and variety of relationships he had fostered throughout his life.

A lifelong Dayton resident, Anthony worked diligently as an Electrician. His skilled hands and dedicated spirit were a boon to small businesses, churches, and homes in the area. His work was not just a profession but a testament to his commitment to community and service.

As we reflect on Anthony's life, we are reminded of the light he brought into our lives. He will be sorely missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
