He competed in, and often won, many local golf tournaments, including the City of Dayton Amateur Golf Championship. He had an amazing memory for each and every shot and could recount details of each game played. He was inducted into the Dayton Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. He and Faye spent their retirement in Bellair, FL where he continued to enjoy his golf games. Andy served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 through 1946. He received two Bronze Stars and the American Theater Ribbon. Andy never lost his sense of humor and good cheer even while his health declined. The family is grateful for the kindness and skill of the staff at Walnut Creek Nursing Center, who cared for Andy so lovingly these past three years. In accordance with Andy's wishes, there will be a private internment only. Contributions in Andy's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
