Anthony Morrison Blevins "Tony", age 55, entered his eternal resting place on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
He was born December 11, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Barbara Ann (Keener) Blevins - mother and James H Blevins - father - who is still living and resides in Huber Heights, Oh.
In addition to his mother, Tony was preceded in death by his older brother, Johnny Ray Blevins
He is survived by his three sisters, Tonya Marie (Blevins) Humphrey, Deborah Ann (Blevins) Lawson, Teresa Maude (Blevins) Lilly. Nieces Amanda and Christina Humphrey and April Blevins. Nephews, Joshua Pratt, and Bryan and T.J. Dewitt, as well as two great Nieces, Kyah Marie and Narah Ann along with cousins and other relatives.
Tony will be remembered as the "gentle giant" who was a magnet for kids and animals. He had a great love for fishing, music, watching movies, and fixing, tinkering, building and creating things.
He will also be remembered for his incredible God given talent and ability to repair and fix just about anything and for the many creative inventions he built over the years and the amazing fact that he could do it all without any training or schooling, as everything he knew was self taught.
Tony had been battling a long term illness for over 20 years that had affected his ability to walk or tinker or work on things as he used to, yet he still had a zest for life and enjoyed riding his scooter, shopping, and keeping his independence as much as he could.
In September of 2019, he was faced with a new medical challenge as he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Throughout his two plus months of dealing with this illness, he never complained of pain, always saying he felt good or fine and always keeping a positive attitude and a sense of humor which touched the hearts of many of his Nurses, Doctors, and Cancer Center workers. He stayed hopeful for his cure, but said he was ready to go home if that was God's will. In the last weeks of his life, his favorite words were, "give it to God", so I know he did just that and is now rejoicing with the Angels in heaven and enjoying his new legs.
He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him and to those who shared the gift of time with him. Tony will never be forgotten in our hearts, thoughts, and memories. --- Gone home to be with Jesus.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 9th from 5:00 to 5:30 pm for visitation. A memorial service will directly follow at: Salem Church of God, 6500 Southway Rd. Clayton, OH 45315.
