Annie P. Thornton, 87, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on May 5, 2022. She was born on May 4, 1935 to the late George Sr. and Cora Moore. In addition to her parents, Annie was also preceded in death by husband Clarence Thornton Sr.; daughter Cora Lee Thornton; grandson Willie "Mouse" B. Totty; and siblings Willie "Wee" Henry Moore, Roosevelt "Bell" Moore, George Moore Jr., Joe Henry Moore, Alice Moore, and Silbertha M. Nixon.
Annie is survived by her children Clarence Thornton Jr., Gregory (Henrietta) Lynn Thornton, Cynthia A. (Richard) Myles, Ronnie Thornton, and Stevenson B. Thornton, Monique Thornton, and Michael Thornton; siblings Louie Moore, Theresa Coleman, Alie Haykal, Hemza (Maryanna) Haykal, and Thaleeb (Siripon) Haykal; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Annie was a supervisor cook for Elder Beerman for many years until her retirement, she was known for her cooking. She always dressed to impress. Her favorite color was green, and she also had a green thumb. Annie was a caregiver to many, and had a special bond with Zion Moss.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 5191 Hoover Ave, Dayton, OH 45417. Visitation will be on Saturday at 10 AM until the time of service at Church. Annie will be laid to rest at Jefferson View Cemetery in Dayton.
