Annie Jewel Brady was born on March 15, 1935, in Troy Alabama to the union of Arthur Flowers and Grace Griffin. Jewel accepted the Lord as her savior and became a faithful member of the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
When you look at the sunshine that was Jewel's smile, big, bright and soul warming. She was a giving, loving, and encouraging lady. She believed in lifting people up, helping when she could, and just sharing her wisdom of life with the younger generation. Although Jewel unfortunately had no biological children, she often worried about the future of her daughter with whom she raised from birth, Arlene (Sanders) Bryant and granddaughter, Qiana (Bryant) Bryant-Sturdivant. She spoke fondly of past-time memories when life was easier. She talked of being young and meeting one handsome guy, named William D. Brady, that later became her husband until he departed this life on Friday, October 16, 2009. Jewel was a dedicated wife, mother, and sister. She wore many hats in the family, the one she enjoyed most was being the older big sister. She took much pride in that specific role, because she loved her siblings beyond words.
Jewel will forever be missed and loved. We ask for prayers in the upcoming days for her entire family and community. We have lost another anchor in the ship of life.
Jewel met her Heavenly Father and entered eternal peace on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Brady; stepdaughter, Diane Johnson; parents, Arthur Flowers and Grace Sanders; sisters, Jurlene D. (Sanders) Stewart, Ella M. Sanders, and Alice Jean (Pugh) Johnson; brother, Willie M. Flowers; nieces, Laura Sanders, JoAnn Dixie, and Roniera; and nephew, Kenney Flowers.
