Anna "Gamma" Tomsic, born Anna Kmit on October 14, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on February 29, 2024, in Centerville, Ohio, at the age of 82. She was known for her big smile, her big heart and being a friend to everyone she met. Her sense of humor and quirky comments brought laughter to her family. Her love for her family was the true meaning of unconditional. The simplicity of her most prevalent phrase, "it was meant to be", carried the sense of resolution for her. As her beauty changed through the years, it was her amazing mane of silver hair that endured and seemed to have found the fountain of youth.
Anna had many different jobs spanning many different industries. Other than being a mother and raising her 3 children, her favorite job was with Peter Li Inc. where she worked in publishing, advertising and sales for many years in Dayton, Ohio. She was a dedicated mom and a loyal co-worker. Later in life she loved working part time in historic Waynesville at The Looking Glass where she greeted everyone with a welcome smile.
She is survived by her loving children Jeffrey Tomsic (Susan), Steven Tomsic (Rachel), and Cheri Fleser (Greg), as well as her cherished grandchildren Rylee, Samson, Asher, and Tyler. Gamma will also be missed by her grand-dogs Sophie, Henley, Bernie, Millie, Buddy and her cat Claire.
Anna was preceded in death by her father George Kmit, mother Julia Kmit, brother George Kmit, and sister Mary Levine (Kmit). As well as her three magical cats that she adored for many years, Hocus, Abra and Presto.
Anna loved animals, sometimes more than people. At every conversation she would ask about family and then about our dogs. She loved pet sitting and visiting so she could spend time with family, especially the pups.
Anna frequently donated to the following two organizations. Her two passions, children and pets. Donations in memory of her can be made to the following charities:
