Anna B. Tate

June 21, 1931 — January 16, 2022

Anna B. Tate, of Kettering, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center. She was born June 21, 1931, in Graham County, Hill City, Kansas making her 90 years 6 months old. Her mother claimed that she was blown in on a dust storm at the beginning of the 1930's, the dirty thirty dust bowl. She grew up on a farm with her parents, Anna and Warren White and 4 siblings: Warren, Virginia, Norma, and Emanuel. Anna is the last of her parent's nuclear family.

Anna went to college in Manhattan, Kansas, attending Kansas State University where she met her future husband, Stanley Tate. He was actually there to meet her friend, but Anna didn't let that happen. At Kansas State University, she studied nutrition and was a superb cook.
Anna and Stanley were married in 1952. Stanley was in the United States Air Force, and they lived on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio until 1957. During their time on the Air Force Base, they had their first three children: Douglas, Vicki, and Jeffrey. The family moved to Buffalo, New York, where they had their fourth child: Gregory. Raising four kids in the 60's was a full-time job for her; but Anna also had a part time job which she thoroughly enjoyed in clothing retail, giving her a wonderful sense for fashion. In 1970, they moved back to Kettering, Ohio, where she resided until 2021.

Anna survived her husband of 67 years and in June of 2021 she moved to St. Charles Community in Covington KY.
Anna is survived by her four children: Douglas (Sarah), Vicki (Todd deceased), Jeffery (Linda) and Gregory (Jackie).
Anna was a wonderful mother and grandmother of seven grandchildren, Jason (Beatriz), Laura (David), Rebecca, Derek, Jacob, Kara (Chris) and Caitlin (Ben).

She was also a fantastic Great Grandmother to eight great grandchildren, Le, Mya, Kaleb, Tate, Tyler, twins Brooklyn and Kyndal, and Madeline.

She loved fashion and dressing for work in the latest popular outfits. She baked homemade bread with starter that her ancestors had brought over from Germany. She created many quilts and wall hangings using colorful fabrics and intricate designs. Her main love and focus was always on family. She was fun loving and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember her special parties with creative themes. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
