Ann Palmer

Ann W. Palmer, age 86 of Centerville, passed away August 23, 2015. She was born July 9, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to the late William and Elizabeth Walker. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Palmer.

Ann is survived by her daughters: Karen (David) Smalarz and Elizabeth Palmer; and grandchildren: Brian and Michael.

Ann graduated from Hillsdale College with a BA degree and from Eastern Michigan University with a MA degree. She taught in Plymouth, MI and Centerville, OH for 25 years. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Dayton College Women's Club and Montgomery County Literacy Council. She was past vice president and president of Beta Sigma chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma. Ann was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Castle Ministry and tutoring.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 50 Nutt Road, Centerville, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made in Ann's memory to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or ASPCA.
