Ann Marie V. Maccabee "Annie", age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1952 in Coney Island, New York to the late John and Ann Day. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister; April Kozak; brother, John Day; brother-in-law, Frank (Vivian) Maccabee; and bonus cousin, Barbie Boston.
Annie is survived by her beloved husband 38 years, Daniel Maccabee; daughter, Mirachayla (Eddie) Cardenas; bonus daughter, Mary (Jeff) Hennen; bonus son, Daniel (Melissa) Maccabee Jr.; brother, Richie Riley; sister, Pat (John) Koch; lifelong friends, Dixie Bruggeman and Terry Johnson. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Annie was devoted to her faith and served as a Carmelite Nun. She graduated from Hicksville Highschool in New York and later attended Sinclair Community College in Ohio. Annie also served in the United States Army National Guard and was a proud Neighborhood Assistance Officer (NAO) for the City of Dayton. She enjoyed reading and historical research, brain teaser games, playing Solitaire and other card games, fishing, camping, cruise vacations, and raising her special pets. The most important thing to Annie was her family, especially dinners and movies. She is deeply loved and will be missed.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Funeral Services will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Cartwright at 12:00 pm following visitation. She will be laid to rest alongside family at Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Ohio at 10:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2023.
