Ann M. Carroll, 85, of Huber Heights, died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton Thursday, May 9, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack, in September, 2011, her son Patrick Francis, her parents J. Frank and Margaret Martin, daughter-in-law, Louise Carroll and siblings Sam Martin, Mary Ziegler, Jerry Martin and Joe Martin.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Gail Carroll, Maureen Brustkern, Margie and Pete Wehner, Rose Ann Carroll and Kevin Moran, and Tom and Sue Carroll. Other survivors include her grandchildren Max (Mel Church) Brustkern, Lea (Nathan) Lundquist, Zeke Brustkern, John Wehner, Caitlin (Greg) Fister, and Carroll (Allen) Jackson, as well as great grandchildren Erika, Alexis and Cameron. Also surviving are siblings Jack Maddan, Mary Lou Williams, Lucy Newport, sister-in-law Rosemary Hausenbauer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann graduated from John Carroll High School in Oklahoma City, OK and St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS. She was a homemaker while her children were young and became an elementary school teacher when they began college, teaching at St. Peters and Huber Heights Schools for many years. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother and teacher. She loved children and adored her grandkids, rarely missing their games, concerts, or plays and filling them full of treats whenever they visited. She was a very spiritual woman and was active in various service activities at her church throughout her life. She and Jack had a good life together and were deeply loved by their family.
