Angie L. Porter, daughter of the late Gratz and Angie Monroe, was born on May 25, 1929. She was one of six children.
Angie is preceded in life by parents Gratz and Angie Monroe, her husband Shelly Porter, Sr., son Shelly Jr., siblings Alma Holmes, Beatrice Booher, Tom Monroe, daughter Beatrice, and grandson Shelly III. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her daughter Amanda Clayburn, sisters Frae Anderson and Sue Page, daughter in-law Bonnie Porter, 7 grandchildren, as well as 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Angie graduated from Hubbard High School in Hubbard, OH. She was a licensed practical nurse working mainly with the elderly. She was a member of Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church in Youngtown, Ohio. While there she was a member of the choir and a deaconess.
She loved to read and write various poems, one of which was published in Reader's Digest. She was a very outgoing individual who loved meeting people. She never met a stranger.
Most recently, she attended the Emmanuel Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, with celebration of life service to follow, all at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
