Angela (Angie) Renee Turner, age 51, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 surrounded by loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Angie was born on March 21, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio.
She received her bachelor's degree in communications from The Ohio State University and was previously employed as a social worker and most recently as an enrollment assistant at Sinclair Community College. Angie was commended for mentoring, leadership and project management.
Angie had a passion for learning and often took classes at Wright State University and Sinclair Community College to further challenge her mind. She was a voracious reader and gifted writer who enjoyed writing poetry, songs and capturing thoughts in her journal. Angie was a music lover and enjoyed listening to artists from the 80s and was known for her humor and ability to make friends easily.
Angie was preceded in death by her grandmother Leola Turner and her father James Oxendine. She is survived by her mother Patricia, sisters Karla, Sharmin (Cookie) Kimberly, Bobbi, Victoria and her brother Kevin, devoted cousin, Charles, life-long friends, Nina, Jackie, Susan, Detrel, Kristina, Cherron, Cheryl H. and Amanda along with a host of additional friends and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and/or gifts, Angie would want you to "Invest in yourself to make a positive change." Angie's final wishes will be honored by the family, and final resting place entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road.
