Angela "Angel" Hurwitz, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep in Beavercreek, Ohio, on March 24, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on October 22, 1961, in Portsmouth, Ohio she was a bright light in the lives of her family and friends, known for her infectious laughter, compassionate spirit, and remarkable creativity.
As a proud graduate of Belmont High School, class of 1979, Angel embraced education and knowledge throughout her life. She was an intellectual, often engaging those around her in meaningful conversations, sprinkling humor and warmth into every interaction. Her handwriting was a cherished trait among her loved ones, admired for its beauty and grace, creating a lasting legacy of her personal touch.
Angel poured her heart into being a loving wife to Jeff for an enduring 43 years and nurturing her children, Lauren (Scott) Muran and Phillip Hurwitz. She took immense pride in raising her family and was a doting grandmother to Ethan, Autumn, and Landon, finding joy and fulfillment in watching them grow. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her siblings, Sheryl (Mike) Gould, Terry (Marian) Craycraft, and Mark (Barb) Craycraft, as well as her brother and sister in laws Marlene (Dick) Griffith, Larry (Dorothy) Hurwitz, Linda (Jamie) Bullens and Greg (Gloria) Hurwitz ensuring that her bonds with them were treasured and celebrated.
Angel had a playful spirit, which found its way into many hobbies and interests. She was exceptionally creative, delighting in Diamond Art and home décor projects. She also had a flair for fashion and a love for classic movies, often reminiscing about lazy afternoons spent watching Doris Day and Katharine Hepburn films with her sister Sheryl during their childhood. History was another passion of hers, as she explored the stories of the past with enthusiasm.
She was also a devoted pet owner, loving her puppy Bentley, who brought her boundless joy and companionship. Angel's caring nature touched the lives of many, and she shared her compassion not only within her family but also with her extended family and friends, forming deep connections that will be long remembered.
Angel was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Clarence and Maryann Craycraft. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on April 5, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
