PFLUG, Andrea (nee Garza), age 74 of Beavercreek, OH was called home to the Lord on 19 August 2011.
She was born to the late Ramon E. Garza and Guadalupe R. Garza in San Antonio, TX, 31 December 1936, attended local schools, was a member of local El Templo Christiano Assembly of God Church, and graduated college with a business degree. She worked for the Air Force (Lackland AFB TX), Army (Ft. Sam Houston TX), Defense Contactors (General Research Corp., CA) and universities (UC Santa Barbara, CA) including Syracuse University, NY from which she retired in 1999.
She moved to Beavercreek OH in 1999 with her husband Donald Pflug, an engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory WPAFB OH, now retired. Andrea was a member of Beavercreek Baptist Church and served as treasurer, on personal/finance committees, on local missions, and on a mission trip to Mexico. Andrea is preceded in death by her parents (Ramon and Guadalupe Garza); Raymond (beloved brother), David (beloved brother), Eunice (beloved sister) and Virginia (beloved cousin).
Those who will celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Donald Pflug (Beavercreek, OH), two sons, Mark Pflug (Westport, CT) and Paul Pflug (Ft. Mill, SC); two daughters-in-law, Laura Pflug (Westport, CT) and Kelly Pflug (Ft. Mill, SC); 4 grandchildren (John Pflug, Chloe Pflug, Westport, CT; Hayley Pflug and Rylei Brown-Campbell, Ft. Mill, SC), sister-in-law, Adela Garza (Whitney, TX); nieces, Irene Garza Deverna (Charlestown, RI), Becky Garza- Mattia (Derry, NH), Kathy Garza Sears (Knox, IN), Ray Garza (Haltom City, TX), Sandie Vernon (Hayward, CA) and Teri Shroll (Lompoc, CA) and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends August 23, 2011 from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at Beavercreek Baptist Church, 3511 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Pastor John Heading presiding.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. If flowers are sent, please send to either Newcomer Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel or to the church.
