Charlene was born in St. Louis, MO on November 20, 1943 to the late Claude Russell & Olivia Berneice Collins.
Charlene enjoyed fishing, and cooking what she caught. She also liked going to amusement parks.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas; granddaughter, Lashonda Childs; mother & father-in-law, Carrie & Christopher Thomas; brother-in-laws; JD Thomas and Carlzell Thomas; sister-in-laws, Mary Poindexter and Mildred Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Marvin Smith; daughters, Venita Smith (Jimmy Gordon), Nina Childs (James Brandon) and Khianti Thomas; brother-in-laws, Albert Thomas, Gus Thomas, Ben (Ellyce) Thomas, Sam Thomas, Dean (Francis) Thomas, Lee (Lena) Thomas; sister-in-law, Jimmie Thomas; grandchildren, Anthoney, Krisnal, Erica, Jacinte', Jaylon, N'seya, Brooklyn, Kameya and Loren; great-grandchildren, Ja'lon, Ja'lia and Kase; and many other relatives and friends.
Private service were held Monday, May 13, 2019.
