Anderson "Andy" Osborne

Osborne, Anderson “Andy”, age 87 of Kettering, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024. Andy was born on November 10, 1936 in Lawrence County, Ohio to Malcolm and Ruth Osborne, but was raised by Anderson (Unk) & Myrtle Osborne.

Andy enjoyed bowling, working on cars, playing cards, trips to the casino (everyday) but most of all he loved gatherings with family picnics and cookouts. He also loved to go out to eat. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Stansell) Osborne, brother, Donald Osborne, sister, Effie Hoffman and his cats, Gizmo and Angel. 

He is survived by his children, Robert “Leroy” (Gloria) Osborne, Larry and Jerry (the twins) Osborne and Deborah “Debbie” (Bill) O’Bryan; also Nancy Overall, with whom he always thought of as a second daughter and Chris Monge as a 4th son; grandchildren, Kelly (Heidi), Crystal (Joe), Tonya, Michael (Leslie), Sterling, Greg (Ana); great grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Lorelei, Aiden, Lex, Dominic, Chloe, and his newest little, Liam Michael Osborne; grandpets, Henry, Eleanor, Bear and Avery; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. 

Andy loved getting together with his nieces, Brenda and Theresa every time that Brenda came into town. Andy had a friend that he worked with for years, whose name is Chris. Chris said Andy changed his life with all his stories and knowledge and helped him in life. Another friend he had fun with at the casino and watching movies with named Maggie.

Andy’s favorite thing was going to watch Michael and Greg play basketball no matter what. He was there mascot! He was loved by the whole team. 

Family will receive guests from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439) where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Andy will be laid to rest next to his wife, Phyllis at Bellbrook Cemetery.
