Amos Johnson

Amos "Tony" Johnson was born on July 31, 1938 in Wedowee, Alabama to Eula Mae Williams who preceded him in death. He departed this life at home on December 15, 2023 at the age of 85. He had one sibling, Otis Johnson of Dayton, Ohio who also preceded him in death.

He was a loving son, father, brother, cousin and friend to all those who knew him. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Anthony Johnson; daughter, Robbin Johnson-Banks (Alfonso) of Lake Elsinore, California; grandson, Jovan Johnson of Irvine, California; granddaughter, Aiyiesha Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Gabriella and Jaiden of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves behind other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Amos attended Randolph County Training School. During his lifetime, Amos worked at Kimberly Clark and Appleton Paper Corp. He also worked as a car salesman and a security guard after his retirement.

He spent many years as a Disc Jockey, "Tony". He worked at WDAO radio station for a number of years. He loved his music; he loved to dance; and he loved his clothes, always well dressed, GQ.

Amos attended several churches during his lifetime in Dayton, Ohio. His current church was Residence Park Church of Christ under the leadership of Robert Soloman. He also attended our family church, First Thessalonian Baptist Church under the leadership of Clifford Ballard and his family church of Mt. Enon Baptist Church. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and memories.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 1-2pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45425. The memorial service will follow at 2pm.
