Amanda Lee Peasant, 95, of Centerville, passed away on February 22, 2017 at St. Leonard Center. She was born on June 6, 1921 to the late James and Flossie (Wanser) Brown in Amissville, VA.
On July 4, 1945, she married Benjamin F. Peasant. Amanda and Benjamin lived in Dayton, Ohio. She was a longtime member of St. Benedict the Moor and the Leisure Club.
Amanda is survived by her children, Benny F. (Dionne) Peasant, Michael L. Peasant, Herbert "Tony" A. (Janet) Peasant, Denise M. Peasant, and Dennis C. (LaShawn) Peasant; grandchildren, Colin, Sean, Aurore, Christopher, Marcus, Tiarra, James, and David; great grandchildren, James, Ava, and Riley; sisters, Elaine Metz; Leisure Club members, Susan Roberts, Mrs. Poole, and Sister Virginia, as well as numerous other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Peasant; sisters, Marion Braxton, Martha Hackley, Mary Croft, Myrtle Pendleton, Gladys Pendleton; brothers, William, Fletcher, Lewis, Roger, and Webster Brown.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, 519 Liscum Dr., Dayton, OH 45427, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Ave., Dayton, OH 45409.
