Alyson L. Brodie

Alyson L. Brodie "Dr. Palmer", age 90 of Waynesville, reunited with her husband, Henry Brodie on January 16, 2020. She was born March 31, 1929 in Olcott, NY to the late William C. and Shirley (Klingensmith) Palmer. In addition to her husband and parents, Alyson was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Tinner and her brother, William Palmer.

She is survived by her children, Kent (Mayela) Brodie, Heather Brodie, Laurie Brodie (Katie Jenkins), Erin (Jeff) Morgan and Shannon (Scot) Caviness; grandchildren, Jacen Geiger, Kirk (Amy) Geiger, Jeffrey Morgan, Shannon Morgan (Casey Kincer) and Jessica Caviness; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Alyson graduated from Barker High School, achieved her undergrad at Walla Walla College (University).
While attending Walla Walla, Alyson earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry. She attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she met Henry and they married July 24, 1955. They both were recruited in 1966 to work at Kettering Medical Center upon its grand opening. Alyson was the first female resident in their pathology department. Alyson was a physician with Kettering Medical Center Emergency Department towards the end of her lustrous career.

Family will receive friends from 6-7 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Centerville, OH 45459 where a funeral service will begin at 7 PM. A graveside service will begin at 11 AM on Friday, January 24 at Miami Corwin Cemetery, 6379 Corwin Ave., Waynesville, OH 45068.
