Alvin C. Banner

Alvin C. Banner, "Al," age 79 of Centerville, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio.

Following graduation from Patterson Co-Op, Alvin began his career at Mechineer demonstrating an unwavering work ethic that would define his professional life. He was also formerly employed with Globe Tool & Engineering before venturing into entrepreneurship by founding his own company, CBC Engineers. His contributions to the engineering field were remarkable, and his influence extended well beyond his own business.

Al was a passionate individual who enjoyed various hobbies, with fishing, woodworking, puzzle-working, and playing games being some of his greatest pleasures. He also found joy in volunteering with disaster relief and leading chapel services at St. Leonard. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores "Sue" Banner; children, Wendi (Howard) Suiters, Craig Banner, and Melody (Dave) Brown; grandchildren, Andrew, Tiffany, Marissa, Madison, Nathan, Caleb, Evan, Rob, Austin, Ariel, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Becca, Jackson, and Reagan; siblings, Margaret Girard, Shirley (Ross) Chitwood, Deanna Hall, and Randy (Sue) Banner; along with numerous extended relatives and many friends.

Along with his parents, Al is preceded in death by his siblings, John Banner, Mary Mink, Rosa Lee Miller, and Henry Banner; and granddaughter, Jenna Brown.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at Springboro Baptist Church (125 E Mill Street, Springboro, OH 45066). Funeral service will begin at 1 pm with Pastor Jim Gifford officiating. Al will be laid to rest in Miami Corwin Cemetery in Waynesville, OH.
