Alta Mae McManus, age 81, of Washington Township, formerly of Miamisburg, went to live with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2010.
Born in Cincinnati, and raised in Kentucky, she joined the Air Force in 1951 and appeared on a U.S Postal Service Stamp with President Harry Truman honoring the women in service.
Always a twinkle in her eye, a smile on her lips and a loving heart, Alta was married to Bill for 57 years and mother to Debi (Rae) Beeman of Dayton, Denise (Phil) Raleigh of Naperville, IL, Donna (Mike) Phillips of Dayton, Diane (Mark) Detesco of Youngstown and Mike (Nancy) McManus of Miamisburg.
With a brave and adventuresome spirit, she held Grandmas' Camp at Buck Creek with all of her 16 grandchildren and 4 great-children for 10 years. Camp was filled with crafts, games and Bible stories . An ardent seamstress and Sunday School teacher, she was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ortha and Tipsy Parker and survived by her siblings Sonny, Margaret, Jim, Phyllis, Dave and Dennis.

Visitation Services will be held from 6 - 8:30 p.m. on Monday, December 6, and Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, both at Cornerstone Baptist Temple, 1707 Ohmer Ave., Dayton, OH 45410.
