JONES, Alonzo "Al", age 78, of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2006. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A very loving & Caring husband of 50 years. A wise and nurturing father of four, who was always there. He was an unbelievable problem solver. There wasn't anything he couldn't figure out. He was preceded in death by both parents, George and Rachel Jones; brothers, George, Jr. and Paul Jones. He is survived by his wife, Winona "Winnie" Jones; children, Greg (Cheri) Jones, Mark Jones, M.D., Julie (Brady) Schwyhart, and Sheri Jones; 9 grandchildren, Dane, Rakesh, Matthew, Lyndsey, Ashley, Rachel, Miranda, Nicholas, and Michaela; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexis, MaKenna, Kaitlyn, and Keira; brother, Hugh Jones; sister, Trude Kelly; many nieces and nephews. He retired from General Motors in 1981 after 30 years of service. He was a magnificent musician, playing fiddle in many different country bands over the years, known as Jody Jones. He was a member of University Baptist Church, was a master mason in Beaver Valley Lodge since 1964. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the United States Army. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at University Baptist Church at 2223 Hanes Rd. in Beavercreek with Pastor Charlie Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Deacons Benevolence Fund at University Baptist Church.
