Alma Riddle Whitt

Whitt, Alma Riddle, age 89, of Moraine, formerly of Fairborn, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1923 in Rowan County, Kentucky and resided most of her life in Fairborn.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Whitt; parents: John & Clarinda Riddle; stepfather: George Stephens; two brothers: Junior & Alvin Riddle; three sisters: Lou Roberts, Ella Honeycutt & Roxlene Riddle; and two grandsons: Jerry Wayne & Keith Yates.

She is survived by her three children: Eloise (Jerry) Yates of Fairborn, Larry (Shirley) Whitt of Moraine, Richard Whitt of Hamilton; daughter-in-law: Sharon Whitt; sister-in-law: Wanda Whitt; grandchildren: Leah Yates, Darla (Thomas) Cade & Nicholas Whitt; great grandson: Treven Whitt Cade; and many church friends, friends and neighbors.

Alma loved her family and her friends. She always had a smile on her face. She loved to cook, garden and fish, and loved to eat sweets. Her roses and irises were among the most beautiful in the neighborhood. She will be greatly missed by everyone here, but welcomed by many there. She was part of Pathway Baptist Church for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow the services at Bryon Cemetery in Fairborn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
