Alma Helmes

HELMES, Alma age 97 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. She was a recent resident of the Widows Home and One Lincoln Park. She was preceded in death by her husband George Helmes, daughters Alma Brethen and Georgia Mehall, grandsons Steve Mehall and Mark E. Hommel. She is survived by her grandchildren Jeffery and wife Rae Jean Rataiczak, Mary Ann Drewry, John and wife Julie Mehall, Michelle and husband Scott Koker; great grandchildren Holly, Nick, Mark, Madison, Alex, Austin and Jessica; sons-in-law Bernard Mehall and Robert Brethen; special friends Mary Mercuri and Gretchen Rudy. Alma retired from the University of Dayton after many years of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Friday, September 15, 2006 at Emmanuel Catholic Church 149 Franklin Street. Family will receive friends from 8:30 am until 9:30 am Friday at Newcomer Funeral 3940 Kettering Blvd. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
