ALEXICKO, Alma Marie (Postal), age 99 and six months young, passed peacefully in her sleep on September 21, 2023, at Oak Creek Terrace, Kettering, Ohio.
Alma was born on March 31, 1924, in Kulpmont, Pennsylvania to Martha (Scalet) and Victor Postal. On February 4, 1948, Alma married Michael Alexicko (retired USN), at the Navy Ship Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (in the blizzard of 1948).
Preceded in death by her husband, sister Anna Postal Spears, brothers Albert and Robert Postal, and surviving sister Eleanor Clauser.
Alma was proud of her Austrian and Tyrolean heritage, and especially proud of her three children Michael (Tina) Alexicko, Martha (Ty) Morris, and Celeste (Tom) Lane. Grandchildren Melissa Alexicko, John (Abbey) Alexicko, Justin (Kate) Lane, Robert Lane, Olivia (Nick) Speros, Matthew (Josette) Morris, and Stephanie Morris. Great grandchildren Pierce, Hudson, Anderson, Cora, Paul, Cooper, Christian, Josephine, Jude, and Johnathan, and special family friend Debbie Wise.
Alma was known as a kind and giving person who loved her family and friends. Alma and Mike enjoyed listening to "real music" (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Jerry Vale, and Robert Goulet) and dancing to Big Band music. She was always ready to cook a meal, sit at the table with family, drink some good wine, and have a good time.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by services at noon, and burial at the National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff, nurses, and administration of Oak Creek Terrace for the wonderful care, love, and kindness in the later phase of Alma's life.
