Alisa J. Ponder

Alisa J. Ponder, age 64 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. She was born October 6, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio daughter of the late Emmit and Mary Ponder.

Alisa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed listening to music, doing puzzles, cooking, and spending time with her family. Alisa will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. 

In addition to her parents, Alisa was preceded in death by her brother, Bowie Ponder; and sister, Rosalind Ponder.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Lester; daughters, Chawnta (Samuel Jr.) McMickens and Shamika Cooper; grandchildren, Samuel III, Asaiya, Immanuel, and Daniel; siblings, Ramona Williams, Michael Cottle, and Robin Stewart, several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 2-4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 4pm also at the Funeral Home.
