Alex T. Gilbert

GILBERT, Alex "A.T.", age 85, a long time resident of Moraine, passed away at his daughter's home where he had resided for over two years, on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. He was born on February 3, 1924 to William C. and Martha Gilbert in Manchester, KY. He was the youngest and last surviving child of thirteen children. Alex retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber Company in 1981 after 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Betty Gilbert and grandson, Andy Eubank. He is survived by his children, Tom and Pat Gilbert of Evans, GA, Vickie and Ted Eubank of West Carrollton, OH and Brian and Terise Gilbert of Erlanger, KY. His grandchildren are Aunda and Josh Wilson of Moraine, OH, Liberty and Ben Jones of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, April Gilbert of Evans, GA and Jordan, Chase and Daniel Gilbert of Erlanger, KY. His great grandchildren are Katelyn and Alex Wilson of Moraine, OH and Benjamin and Adeline Jones of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Pastor Ed Doolin officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton.
