Alex L. Merch

MERCH, Alex L., age 87, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Hilda Merch; brother, Louis Merch; sister, Patricia McCormick; daughter, Mary Christine, and nephew, Michael John Merch. Alex is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pearlie Merch; daughters, Phyllis Wagers, Karen Susan Sharpe, Alexis Stevenson, Holly Butler, and Gina Hussey; sons, Shonyi L., Alex L. Merch, II, and Andrew Merch; brother, Freddy Merch; sister, Mary Owen; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, as well as other friends and family. Funeral services will held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Rd., Moraine. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the VA Hospice.
