Obituary:
In loving memory of Aletha Kaye Anthony, affectionately known as "Granny," whose vibrant spirit graced the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Aletha's journey began on April 7, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, where she was born to her devoted parents, Ralph and Lois Smith. She was one of thirteen siblings, forming a close-knit bond that lasted throughout her lifetime.
She retired from both Albertson's in Florida and Wal-Mart in Dayton with dedication and a strong work ethic. However, it was her infectious personality that truly set her apart - always the life of the party, she never held back her thoughts and spoke from the heart. Family always held a special place in Aletha's life; their happiness was her priority, and she cherished every moment spent with loved ones.
On June 2, 2024, Aletha embarked on her final journey from Dayton, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live on. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband of 55 years, Wilbur "Tony" Anthony Jr., who stood by her side through life's joys and sorrows. Aletha is also welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ralph and Lois Smith, along with each of her twelve siblings.
Although Aletha has passed on from this world, her cherished memories are carried by those who loved her dearly. Left to honor her legacy, her son, Thomas Anthony (Lynda), daughter, Timi Payne (Dudley), and daughter Traci Browning. Aletha also leaves behind a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a source of immense joy and pride for their Granny.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Aletha Kaye Anthony at the visitation at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, on June 7, 2024, starting at 12:30 PM, with her Funeral Service beginning at 1:30 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
As we bid farewell to Aletha in this world, we hold onto the memories she gifted us with - laughter shared around the family table, stories woven with love, and moments that will forever reside in our hearts. May her radiant spirit continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey.
Rest peacefully now, dear Aletha Kaye Anthony. You will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for all eternity."
