Albert P. Watkins, age 66 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020. He was born June 12, 1953 in Homestead, Pennsylvania to the late Albert and Florence Watkins.
Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with them. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the artillery division. He worked as a truck driver hauling live fish. He was a member of the American Legion Post #746 and the VFW as well as a life-member of the AmVets Post #24. Al liked to go deer hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Riddle.
Al will be missed by his loving wife of almost 47 years, Bonnie; daughters, Darma P. (Nathan) Cornett, Linda S. (Benny) David and Crystal A. (Patrick) McGinness; grandchildren, Jacob, Nathaniel, Joseph, Brandon, Adysen, Hailey and Ryan; siblings, Bill (Diane)Watkins, John (Leah) Watkins, Rose (Dennis) Jaros, Wayde Watkins, Sarah (Harley) Shepherd; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Eleanora Miller.
Family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Arrangements by Newcomer North Chapel. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army.
