Albert Lee Starnes, 57, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of James T. and Bonnie R. (Mclain) Starnes. Albert was the devoted husband to his loving wife Patricia A. (Elkins) Starnes. They were married on March 22, 2014 in Dayton, OH; they reconnected after many years apart, and have spent the last six years together, the last three as husband and wife.
Albert was a truck driver for many years and worked for Holland in Riverside and was a member of Northridge Church of Christ. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, dirt biking, boating and the smell of a fresh campfire. He was a Craigslist Junkie, loved his corvettes, was learning to play the guitar and had a love of music, especially old country and Johnny Cash. He dearly loved his family, his brothers, his children, especially his sons, and grandkids, but his love for his wife was an unconditional love that was inspiring and endless. He will be dearly missed by all his loved ones, his friends and all who knew him.
Albert is survived by his wife; two sons Jonathan (Teresa) Starnes and Timothy Egnor and their four granddaughters and two grandsons; step children David (Tara) Law and Christie (Cory) Davenport and their three step granddaughters and four step grandsons; four brothers Alan (Judy) Starnes, Dave (Sue) Starnes, Roger (Judy) Starnes and Don (Vickie) Starnes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews Todd Harrison and Jeff Starnes.
A funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio on Friday March 17, 2017 at 1:00 pm. A visitation will be held at the funeral home the evening before from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, OH.
Due to his courageous battle with cancer, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Dayton.
