Albert B. Smith

September 21, 1942 — August 8, 2020

Albert "AB" Smith was born September 21, 1942 at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL to Parents Mary Buggs-Chillis and Albert B. Smith, Sr.

Albert found school difficult, but life amazing. He worked off and on until enlisting in the US Army in 1960 ( honorably discharged in 1963).

Albert spent time hitch-hiking back and forth between Chicago and Dayton, where he visited his Aunt Mary and Uncle James Turner. He decided to move to Dayton where he met and married Marilyn (Frazier) Smith to whom sons where born.

At some point, Albert became employed at Lau Ind. until staff reductions created a new path for him. He pursued his GED through a City of Dayton program, then later continued his education with City of Dayton Job Center, becoming certified as a Cable Installer Technician, and became employed with Viacom Cable (aka Time Warner), until his retirement in 2009.

During those years, Albert met his current wife in 1977, and they had a blended family.

Albert enjoyed bowling (often getting a high score game), boating (when opportunity permitted), and motorcycling.
Albert was an active member of the Dayton Posse MCC. He rode his bike to many events, whether rain or shine, day or night, no matter the distance. Rides that took him to Indiana, Chicago, Colorado, Kansas, So. Carolina, Detroit, Cleveland, and twice to Texas. He retired from the club and still remained as active as possible.

Albert enjoyed fishing with his friend, Alvin Kendrick, who would pick him up for a brief outing.

His Family who has gone before: Mother and Father, Mary and Albert Sr., Aunt and Uncle, Mary and James Turner, Sister, Eunice Walker, and Brothers, James, Leon and Andrew.
