Retired Chief Master Sergeant Albert T. Link Jr., 83, of Beavercreek, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was a 1954 graduate of Batavia High School.
On August 26, 1958, he married Satoe Kubo in Tokyo, Japan. They shared over 60 years of marriage together and were the parents of three daughters; Debra (Link) Fannon, Angel Link and Pamela Link. They have three beautiful grandchildren; Madison (Fannon) Kress, Morgan Fannon and Link McGowan.
Albert served his country in the United States Air Force, with a rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9). Albert served two tours in Vietnam, received four Oak Leaf Clusters (the Air Force Commendation Medal), and numerous other awards. He left the active duty Air Force in 1977. Retiring after 23 years of service with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), the highest enlisted grade in the USAF. Al then began his career in civil service. He retired with a total of 36 years of faithful and devoted Federal Service.
Al loved the time he spent volunteering at both the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post #657. He was respected and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Link and Alberta Merice; brother, Ronald Link and daughter, Angel Link.
Visitation will be held with the family on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Kirkmont Presbyterian Church 3377 Shakertown Road Beavercreek, Ohio with service and dinner immediately following.
