Albert E. Brendel, Jr.

BRENDEL, Jr., Albert E., age 86, of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 8, 1922 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Albert E. Brendel, Sr. and his wife Bernice. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Alice, Edith, and Herbert. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Betty; son, Albert E. Brendel, III (Bert); daughters, Beth, and Beverly (Daniel) Cobb, and their children, Janelle (Andrew) Harvey, Jeremy (Dawn) Cobb, and Jonathon Cobb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Following various pastorates in Nigeria, West Africa and Ohio, Al came to Dayton in 1964 to serve as the first director of pastoral services at Kettering Medical Center, a position held until his retirement in 1988. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 4:00 pm at the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3939 Stonebridge Rd., Kettering, OH.
