Albert Ciccarello (Al), 94, went to be with Jesus shortly after noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Kettering Health Miamisburg, after almost six months of on and off illness. Albert was born in Tampa, FL, and grew up in New York City, where he graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He served in the Army for two years, which took him to Fort Gordon, GA, where he met the love of his life. He spent most of his working career as the Receiving and Traffic Manager for J.B. White department stores, mostly in Augusta, GA. Shortly before retirement, his job moved to Columbia, SC, to which he commuted daily until his retirement in 1991. Albert continued to live in the Augusta, GA area until March, 2024. He was a long-time member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher. Since late March, 2024, Albert had lived in the south Dayton, OH, area near his daughter. In his spare time and as long as he was able, he enjoyed church activities, spending time with family, woodworking, watching westerns, eating, being a jokester, tinkering with tools, and inventing fix-its for anything that needed repair. He was very inventive and capable in woodworking, plumbing, electrical work, and car maintenance. He had a gregarious personality and was a very devoted and faithful husband, father, son, and son-in-law, spending many years as a caregiver first for his mother and then for his wife. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Filomena Ciccarello; his in-laws, Clarence W. and Julia Reynolds; his son-in-law, Kenneth (Ken) Kolpitcke; and his wife of almost 66 years, Martha Reynolds Ciccarello. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie C. Kolpitcke of Centerville, OH; two grandsons, Andrew K. Kolpitcke (Amanda) of Smyrna, GA, and Bryan J. Kolpitcke (Stephanie) of Athens, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather in just less than two months. All services for Albert will be held in Georgia, where he will be buried next to his wife in the Harlem, GA cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907. Ohio arrangements will be handled by Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville. Georgia arrangements will be handled by Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Home, Davis Rd., Augusta.
