Albert "Joe" Bruggeman, age 79, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, SC.
Born in Indonesia, Mr. Bruggeman was the son of the late Albert and Emelie Bruggeman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed riding his Harley in Dayton, OH and Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Bruggeman was a 2nd Degree Blackbelt in Karate and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton, OH. He worked for General Motors as a millwright welder where he retired after 30 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bruggeman is preceded in death by his first wife, Judith (Scarpelli) Bruggeman; brother, George C. Bruggeman; sister-in-law, Jans Bruggeman; sister, Erna E. Tilmanns; brother-in-law, Hendrick Stampfli and daughter-in-law, Brooke Cole (Martin).
Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Bruggeman, Murrells Inlet, SC; children, Joni Mays (Greg) of West Carrollton, OH; Jason Bruggeman (Gwen), Hillsboro, OH; Mike Cole, Scottsboro, AL; Arthur Bruggeman (Antoinette), Gallup, NM; grandchildren, Allison Lovely (Alex), Ashley James (Austin), Bailey Cole, Madison Cole, Hailey Bruggeman, Johanson Bruggeman, Richeyene Bruggeman, Malika Bruggeman and Markita Bruggeman; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Jenny Stampfli, Dayton, OH; Loes Van Hemert, Pasadena, CA; brothers, Edward Bruggeman, Anaheim, CA; Rudy Bruggeman (Irene), Dayton, OH; several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439). The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery (723 Upper Miamisburg Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342).
